Should an artist have to apologize to their fanbase for creating a work that isn't exactly up to the tastes of that fanbase?

I can understand saying "I don't like this because it doesn't really suit my tastes". But to tell me that an artist has "completely lost his way" and that he should regress... it hurts. I don't create art to suit the exact tastes of my prospective fans. I change like any other human being. I grow. My tastes change. My influences expand, and so does my palette.

I refuse to be told that I shouldn't grow, and that I should only be stuck in one mindset, because that's what THEIR tastes are. I have my own damn tastes, and I'll write whatever music I feel like writing. If you don't like it, then hey, go listen to one of my old songs or something, and stop bitching.

Pretty much everything. I don't draw though, so it's not really an issue.

Mac and PC are pretty much roughly equal to me. One has more openness in source, the other has a really awesome interface. It all boils down to personal preference, and I guess I prefer OS X.

Ugh, neither please.

I hardly ever read novels for pleasure, and television is pretty horrible nowadays. So neither.
